Hearthside is made by one person, and every message is read by that person. If something is broken or confusing, please write. Include your device model and iOS version for bug reports and it will get sorted much faster.
Open Settings inside the app (the gear icon in the top right) and tap Restore Purchases. Purchases are tied to your Apple account, so a new phone or a reinstall will find them as long as you are signed in with the same Apple ID.
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. Open the iPhone Settings app, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions, and choose Hearthside. You can also reach that screen from Settings inside the app if you have an active subscription. Canceling stops future renewals and Plus stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
Refunds are handled entirely by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and choose the purchase. We are not able to issue refunds ourselves.
A photo you choose to identify is sent over an encrypted connection, identified, and never stored on our servers. The photo saved with your meal stays on your device. Full details are in the privacy policy.
The photo feature makes a best guess and it is not always right. You can edit the name before saving, and whatever you type wins. Logging by typing the dish name works just as well and never uses a photo.
Free kitchens hold two logged meals a day and three cookbook cards. Hearthside Plus removes the daily limit, opens the full cookbook, unlocks every kitchen spirit, and reveals the Silver and Golden Spoon card content. Progress you make on the free tier is never lost: it accumulates quietly and appears the moment you upgrade.
Hearthside stores everything on your device, with no account system. If your new phone was set up from an iCloud backup of the old one, your kitchen should come with it. If it was set up as a new device, the meal history does not transfer, though your purchase can still be restored with the Restore Purchases button.
Write to hearthsideapp@gmail.com. Feature requests are genuinely welcome; a lot of what is in the app came from people asking.
